This unusual white tea is from the Jinggu region of Yunnan Province, and is made out of a large leaf downy cultivar. Hand-picked in the spring, its processing involves a longer withering time out of direct light—which allows for slight oxidation—yielding a more robust flavor and rose-gold liquor color than other teas in the category, like or .
Abundant silky silver buds stand out among the dark leaves, contributing aromas of white flowers and fresh berries, with strong balsamic-woody notes and a sweet hay flavor. Characteristic of Yunnan teas, the taste lingers through long steeping sessions. Use water below boiling (around 185°F), or try ambient or cold infusion for a different perspective.
